Payroll Specialist

RJ Byrd is seeking a hands-on Payroll Specialist for their client in the Grapevine area. This position will be responsible for processing payroll, garnishments, payroll taxes, and payroll reports in a fast-paced environment. Coordinate the new hire set up process processes for payroll, benefits and 401(k), and address employee questions related to their compensation and benefit programs.

    • Full process of payroll for midsize organization, multistate
    • Handle employee’s day-to-day payroll related needs
    • Conducts audits prior to final processing of payroll
    • Perform annual payroll functions such as: W2 reviews, address updates, 940 Federal Unemployment Tax Act (FUTA) tax calculation, benefit open enrollment process
    • Review all payroll calculations ensuring correctness and compliance with all Federal, State, Local wage, and hour regulations
    • Accurately calculate and complete entry for additional compensation payments such as COLAs and bonuses
    • Process regular and off cycle payroll cycles meeting all required deadlines
    • Complete all processes for garnishments in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as with Company policies
    • Complete all processes for new hire set-up in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as with Company policies
    • Maintain an organized filing system ensuring all documentation is filed within one week of completion of the cycle

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5+ years of strong hands-on payroll experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll tax and payroll compliance experience
  • Strong pluses would be union experience, CPP and bachelor’s degree
  • Strong payroll systems: ADP Vantage, Kronos and Workday preferred
  • Organization requires vaccinations
